"Rural Matters" report launch
You are warmly invited to join us online on 23rd September 2020, 2-4pm BST for the launch of our new report: Rural Matters - Understanding alcohol use in rural areas: Findings from a qualitative research study.
This report is the culmination of five community consultations and 25 qualitative interviews with healthcare professionals, service providers, recovery community members and fellowship members working and living in rural and remote areas of Scotland.
We are grateful to everyone who took the time to participate in our events and interviews and would like to take this opportunity to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of you. We hope this report will reflect your views and experiences at the same time as it puts forward recommendations for policy and practice to better serve your communities.
SHAAP is delighted to be welcoming Nick Smith, Alcohol and Drug National Support Manager for the Scottish Government, to share the Scottish Government's perspective on alcohol support and treatment in remote and rural areas as an introduction to our event. This will be followed by the presentation of the report, which will last approximately 45-60 minutes. The remaining time will be open for a Q&A session and discussion.
Please visit https://events.rcpe.ac.uk/alcohol-problems-and-recovery-rural-scotland-rural-matters-report-launch to register for the event. The webinar will be hosted on the online platform Zoom, and a joining link will be emailed in advance of the event.
